McKinney Girls Softball Under New Leadership

MCKINNEY, TX - McKinney's girls recreational and select softball, formerly managed by McKinney Girls Softball Association (MGSA), will now be under the leadership of McKinney Baseball Association (MBA), effective immediately.  The City of McKinney authorized the change in softball management responsibilities in June 2017 to provide the girls in the McKinney area an improved softball experience.

MBA and MGSA were organized separately in 1955 to foster good sportsmanship and promote interest in the games of baseball and softball for the children in the McKinney area.  As the McKinney area has had tremendous growth, so did both organizations, serving thousands of families each season.  With that growth came evolution.  MBA has invested in technology, including enhanced communications via email and text messaging, user-friendly website and mobile apps to help parents and coaches coordinate, and a tournament app to offer live updates to the brackets.  Furthermore, MBA established unique opportunities for kids to represent their community, such as with the Collin County Classic.  In fact, the competition level of McKinney Baseball Association has fared quite well against other area leagues.  MBA's large, professionally-diverse, and committed board of directors ensures outstanding business operations, strong financial footing, a commitment to supporting coaches, community support and involvement, mindset of improvement, and continuity of operations for many years to come---all in the name of making it better for the kids.

MBA's board of directors seeks valuable input from local youth softball participants to continue to improve upon McKinney's offering.  Interested parties may supply their feedback and ideas until July 1 by taking a survey.  Applications for volunteer organization management opportunities for both baseball and softball are also being considered at this time and can be found here.

Registration for the McKinney girls softball Fall season will open in July.  If you would like to be personally notified of the registration information when it becomes available, please take the survey and provide your contact information.

About McKinney Baseball Association (MBA)
McKinney Baseball Association operates under the motto "for the kids."  Established in 1955 to foster good sportsmanship and promote interest in the game of baseball in McKinney and the surrounding area, this 501(c)(3) organization is the oldest and largest baseball organization in McKinney, TX.  There are no paid positions within the MBA, as the league commissioner, board of directors, and all coaches are unpaid volunteers dedicated to helping children.  The league requires background checks for all coaches, surveys its parents and coaches after every season for feedback, maintains an Integrity and Discipline Committee to handle issues immediately if they should arise, and offers financial assistance to parents in need.  Widely recognized in North Texas for its well-run organization and value for the money, the McKinney Baseball Association provides both true recreational divisions (where players are assigned to teams) in addition to competitive divisions (where coaches may form teams).  See www.mbatx.org for more information.
